What the calculator is designed to tell you
The estimate is there to answer the first practical question: are we broadly in the same budget area? It uses the room footprint and your door choice to give an indicative range including VAT for a standard Goldridge specification.
It deliberately gives a range rather than pretending a garden room can be quoted accurately from two measurements alone. Once we know the plot, access and the details you want, we can turn that starting point into a proper specification and quotation.
What is included in the standard estimate
The standard estimate is built around a fully insulated garden room with the core structure, roofing, external cladding, finished flooring, one standard window, plastering and a complete electrical package.
- Fully insulated structure and roof
- External cladding
- Finished flooring
- One standard window
- Spotlights and sockets
- External and soffit lighting
- Electric radiator
- Mains connection and electrical testing
- Plastering
What can move the final price
The footprint is only the starting point. Ground conditions, difficult access and bespoke features can change the final quotation, as can features that sit outside the standard room specification.
- Unusual ground conditions or access
- Additional or specialist glazing
- Air conditioning
- Plumbing
- Decking and covered canopies
- Bars and fitted joinery
- Media walls and cinema equipment
- Landscaping interfaces
Use the estimate as a starting point, not a fixed quote
If the calculator puts the project in the right territory, the next step is simply to talk through what you actually want from the room. We can then look at where the money is best spent and where a simpler detail may save cost without compromising the finished space.
That keeps the first conversation useful and avoids designing a room that is never going to fit the budget.
