A more considered approach to the garden
Harrogate and the surrounding villages include many mature plots where the garden is already a major part of the property. In those settings, size alone is the wrong starting point. View lines, planting, levels, neighbouring boundaries and how much green space should remain are all part of the design.
The room can be contemporary without feeling disconnected from the house. Cladding tone, window proportions, roof line and landscaping interfaces make a bigger difference than adding decorative features for the sake of it.
Planning and design sensitivity
Conservation areas, listed buildings and sensitive settings are more common around Harrogate than in many newer housing areas. Permitted development may still apply, but it should not be assumed from height alone.
We can help shape a design that responds to the property, then advise when the position should be checked formally with North Yorkshire Council or another relevant authority.
Spaces that justify themselves every day
A premium garden room is worthwhile when it solves a real problem: somewhere quiet to work, a gym that gets used, a studio with proper light or an entertaining room that takes pressure off the house. We design around that job first and style second.
Specify it properly
Insulation, floor build-up, glazing, heating, electrics and weather protection are the parts you live with after the photographs are taken. Goldridge’s current approach combines SIP walls with a traditional timber joist floor system, then tailors the finish to the project.
