Build programme

How long does it take to build a garden room?

The visible build is only part of the programme. A good project spends enough time on design and preparation that the site work can move efficiently.

Most Goldridge builds are around two to three weeks on site

For most projects, Goldridge typically completes the on-site build in around two to three weeks once work starts. That is a guide rather than a promise for every room. Larger footprints, bespoke joinery, complex ground conditions or extensive external works can extend the programme.

Weather can also affect external stages, particularly when access and groundworks are involved.

The programme starts before the first day on site

Design decisions, site checks, quotation, planning questions, ordering and scheduling all happen before construction starts. That pre-start work is what lets the team arrive with a clear specification rather than making expensive decisions halfway through the build.

What can make a project take longer?

Complex interiors and outdoor-living features add trades and sequencing. A fitted bar, canopy, large decking scheme, cinema installation or unusual glazing package may all extend the job beyond a simple office.

  • Challenging access
  • Ground or level issues
  • Bespoke glazing
  • Custom joinery
  • Canopies and extensive decking
  • Planning or approval dependencies

Ask for the project-specific programme

Once the room is designed, the programme becomes much more meaningful. Goldridge can explain the expected site duration and any features that affect it before work starts.
