Garden saunas & wellness

Bring the sauna, cold plunge and recovery space into the garden.

Goldridge designs complete outdoor wellness spaces around the garden and the way you want to use them, from a standalone sauna pod to a sauna, cold plunge, decking, lighting and privacy scheme planned as one project.

Garden sauna or complete wellness space?

A garden sauna can work as a standalone feature, but the strongest projects consider everything around it too. Access, privacy, the route from the house, drainage, power, lighting and somewhere to cool down all affect how often the space gets used.

We can plan the sauna as part of a wider outdoor wellness area rather than treating the cabin as an isolated product dropped onto a patio.

  • Outdoor or garden sauna
  • Sauna pod or cabin
  • Cold plunge area
  • Decking or hardstanding
  • Privacy screening
  • Outdoor lighting
  • Outdoor shower where practical
  • Covered seating or pergola

The sauna heater and electrical supply need planning early

Electric sauna heaters can create a meaningful electrical load, so the heater specification, cable route, protection and available supply need to be understood before the position is fixed. Ventilation, clearances and the sauna manufacturer's installation requirements matter too.

We would rather size and position the wellness area around the actual equipment than build the structure first and discover later that the services are awkward or unnecessarily expensive.

Sauna and cold plunge is becoming one garden project

Many customers are interested in contrast therapy rather than a sauna alone. Pairing a hot sauna with a cold plunge changes the layout: you need safe movement between the two, somewhere to sit, non-slip surfaces, drainage and enough privacy to make the space comfortable to use.

A pergola, screen or sheltered changing area can turn a collection of products into a finished part of the garden.

What affects the cost of a garden sauna project?

The biggest variables are the sauna itself, heater type and output, base, electrical works, access, decking, screening and whether the brief includes a cold plunge or shower. A simple cabin on a prepared base is a very different project from a fully designed wellness garden.

We price around the complete brief so you can see what is equipment, what is construction and what is optional rather than hiding everything behind a single headline figure.

Planning and positioning still matter

A sauna cabin is an outbuilding, so its position, height, proximity to boundaries and the status of the property can affect the planning position. Listed buildings, conservation areas and restricted permitted-development rights need more care.

Tell us the postcode and where you want the sauna to sit. We can flag the obvious questions before the design is taken too far.
